How we handle your data
This page explains what information Crimson Compass Studio collects when you visit this site or write to us, and what happens to it. The short version: we collect almost nothing, and we never sell or trade anything.
The data we hold
We only ever hold what you hand us yourself: the details in an enquiry, an email address to reply to, and the correspondence that follows. There is no account system and no hidden profile.
Purposes
Everything you send is used to deal with your enquiry and nothing else. No profiling, no automated decisions, no passing your address around.
Cookies
We run no trackers. One browser setting is saved locally — the fact that you dismissed our notice — and deleting it simply brings the notice back.
Who else sees your data
We do not sell, rent or trade your information. It is disclosed only if the law obliges us to, and to no one else.
Storage periods
We keep your messages while the conversation is live and delete them when it is over, unless a legal obligation requires a longer period.
Access and deletion
Access, correction, deletion, and objection to any use — all of these are yours to request, free of charge. One message to hello@crimson-compass-studio.com is enough.
Protection
Your correspondence lives in an ordinary, access-protected mailbox, readable only by the people who need to answer you.

Image use
Session photographs are used to deliver your order and, only with your separate agreement, may appear in the portfolio or on social media. You can withdraw that consent at any time without affecting images you have already received.
Cross-border transfers
Email carrying your booking or enquiry may pass through mail servers outside Japan as part of ordinary delivery. It is never forwarded to a third party for marketing or resale.
Complaints
If a request about your data is not resolved to your satisfaction, you may raise it with Japan's Personal Information Protection Commission (個人情報保護委員会) in addition to writing to us.
Minors
Family sessions sometimes include children, but this site does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16 through its own forms. A parent or guardian books and corresponds on a young sitter's behalf.
Analytics
This site runs no third-party analytics or advertising scripts. Basic server logs kept for uptime and error diagnosis are not linked to any individual and are cleared on an ordinary rolling schedule.
Governing language
This policy is published in English. If it is ever translated for convenience, the English version is the one that controls in the event of any discrepancy.
Automated decisions
No automated system decides anything about you or your booking. Every enquiry is read and answered directly — there is no scoring or algorithmic triage of who gets a reply.
Third-party links
Where this site links to print labs, publications, or other external resources, those destinations run their own privacy practices. This policy covers only what happens on crimson-compass-studio.com.
Payment details
Card details for session deposits and print orders are processed by our payment provider and are never stored on this site itself. We only retain a record that a payment was made, not the card number behind it.
Enquiry forms for events
Names and emails collected for outdoor or event bookings are used only to plan and deliver that session, then handled the same as any other client correspondence once the work is complete.
Student registers
Where a session involves more than one client at once — a family group, a small event — the names shared for coordination are used only for that booking and are not merged into a general contact list without separate consent.
Payment records
