Crimson Compass Studio publishes this site under the plain terms below. Using the site means you agree to them.
Copyright
Everything published here is our own work unless credited. You are welcome to read and link to it; copying it into commercial use without asking is not permitted.
Prices and availability
We keep the site truthful, but details like prices, hours and availability can change before the page does. The figure or time you rely on is always the one confirmed with us directly.
Engagements
The scope, timing and price of any actual work are agreed individually, in writing, before it begins. Nothing on this site by itself constitutes an offer that binds either side.
Limits of responsibility
We are responsible for this site's content to the extent the law requires, and no further. We are not liable for external sites we link to, or for decisions taken solely on the basis of general information published here.
Updates
We may update these terms as the business changes; the version published here is the one in force. Material changes will be visible on this page.
Governing law
The law of the place where Crimson Compass Studio is established applies to these terms and to any dispute arising from the use of this site.

Bookings and deposits
Sessions are confirmed once a deposit clears. Rescheduling with at least 48 hours' notice is free of charge; cancellations inside that window forfeit the deposit, since the slot could not be offered to another client.
Print orders
Fine art prints are made to order once a gallery selection is confirmed, so they cannot be returned for a change of mind — only for a genuine printing or production fault.
Severability
If any clause of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest continue to apply as written.
Image rights
Session photographs are used to fulfil your order and, only with your separate agreement, may appear in the portfolio or on social media. That separate consent can be withdrawn at any time without affecting images you already own.
No waiver
If we do not immediately act on a breach of these terms, that does not mean the right to act on it later is given up.
Governing language
These terms are published in English. If they are ever translated for convenience, the English version is the one that controls in the event of any discrepancy.
Outdoor and event sessions
Outdoor and event photography depends on weather, venue access, and timing outside our control. Where a session cannot go ahead as planned, we will offer the next available date rather than a refund, except where the delay is unreasonable.
Referrals and case material
Where a former client agrees to be named or shown in portfolio material, that permission is recorded separately and does not extend to future sessions or to sharing beyond what was agreed.
Independent contractor status
Crimson Compass Studio provides photography services as an independent practice, not as an employee or agent of any client or venue. Nothing here creates a partnership or employment relationship between the parties.
Notice
Formal notices about a booking are sent by email to the address on file and are treated as received the next business day.
Payment terms
Unless agreed otherwise, the balance for a session is due on delivery of the final gallery. Prints and photo books ordered separately are paid in full before production begins, since each is made to order.
Editing and revisions
Standard editing is included in every session. Substantial additional retouching beyond the usual pass — object removal, extensive composite work — is quoted and agreed separately before it begins.
Equipment and backups
Sessions are shot with backup equipment and images are copied to two separate locations before a gallery is delivered, but no storage method is entirely without risk — clients are encouraged to download and keep their own copies once the gallery is received, rather than relying solely on the online link.
